The Author Helper Suite Help – CTR Analysis Tab
Want to capture a quick snapshot of your Click-Thru Rate (CTR) on your individual ads? No problem!
Jump over to the Ads menu item, select the “CTR Analysis” tab, and dig in.
- Select your timeline
- Choose a book
- Filter by the service
- Filter by the ad
- Ponder and think up ways to improve that CTR!

Why Is This Important?
CTR (Click Through Rate) is important in judging the effectiveness of your ads in relation to the audience and the product that you’re delivering. If your book is being displayed to the correct audience and it has everything ready for market – cover, blurb, sample, etc. – then the ad in question should be getting clicked and that book purchased.
If the CTR is below the optimal level, there are issues with
- The audience
- The ad
- The message
- …or all 3
The CTR is at the ad level, not the product page level. That’s an entirely different beast.
“One click per every 1000 impressions equals 0.10% CTR.”
This is a good point to leave as your baseline.
An ad above that is great!
An ad below that or very close to that might not be going to your ideal audience or might not be delivering the right “ad” to the audience. Everything in an ad needs to be taken into consideration – but the CTR is its “grade” in effectiveness.
In the Ad Analysis portion of The Author Helper Suite, we take the thinking out of converting the CTR.
